Welcome to the Kindness Kids Tumble Gym Bus Q and A Page!

Here are some answers to commonly asked questions about this popular in-person enrichment program happening at schools throughout Georgia.

How do I sign up and manage my account with programs my family is registered for?
Create an account to enroll for child or adult classes AND log-in in the same place to make changes to account details such as payment information on file or changes to participation.

What is the schedule for Kindness Kids Gym Bus classes and how often does my child get to participate?
Download the 2022/2023 Season Schedule so you and your child can stay in the know regarding class times and closures. Classes are held once weekly for 30 minutes. Most schools run our program year-round with 36 classes occurring every year.

Classes are held weekly at the same time and day per the current school year’s schedule published on our website. Our schedule currently aligns with Forsyth County Public Schools as closely as possible with an average of 3 classes held monthly to account for holidays and school closures. Each class is 30 minutes long. Depending on the lesson and number of students enrolled at school, children are placed in a group based on their age and skill level in schools where multiple classes take place. For schools where there is a single class weekly, we modify the lesson to meet the skill-level of all participants ages 2.5 to 5. Our program is year-round at most schools.

What will my child learn aboard?
In the Kindness Kids Tumble Gym Bus program, your child will embark upon imaginative adventures (aka stories) where they are the hero every time as they learn and practice TWO important life skills:

  •       Self-Confidence with Preschool Tumbling and Sports Readiness. Your child will learn how to perform an array of introductory tumbling skills such as rolls, balancing, strength, and handstands. We also incorporate sports and physical education readiness to change things up, keep things fun, and boost your child’s confidence in their physical abilities.

  •       Kindness to Self, to Others, and the World Around Them. In every class, your child will practice the kindness skill of the month. Some of the many skills include using manners, sharing, patience, and new responses to big emotions such as anger, sadness, or disappointment, ie: breathing to calm our bodies instead of throwing tantrums.

More specifically, your child will learn and experience:

  • Tumbling & Sports skills that give your child a strong athletic foundation. These skills are applicable building blocks for many popular sports.
  • Self-Awareness and teamwork through team-based activitiesso your child learn's to experience learning as a confident participant with the Kindness Kids family.
  • Social-Emotional Learning and our Kindness Methodology to deepen your child's understanding of The Golden Rule: Treat others as you'd like to be treated - with kindness to self, to others, and to the world around.
  • Kindergarten readiness in a structured classroom environment. Even though we will have lots of fun, we understand the importance of continuing to have the same expectations your child's teacher has in regards to behavior and class etiquette.
  • Confidence and pride as your child learns new skills and feels a sense of accomplishment with every step of progress. We are sure to praise efforts with care, guidance, and positivity.
  • Imaginative storytelling where your child takes part as the hero in every "adventure" aboard! It's through these stories that we teach students new skills and incorporate opportunities for educational pre-k learning.

What is Raising Kindness?

You’ll learn more as we go about our journey together but for now, know that Raising Kindness is the name of our company which holds all of our heart-centered endeavors to support you and your family. The mantra we live by and teach is "Kindness to self, kindness to others, kindness to the world around."
This company umbrella includes the Kindness Kids Tumble Gym Bus program AND parent education resources such as our Raising Kindness blog and Raising Kindness at Home workshops (resuming in 2023!), where you'll learn how to overcome common behavioral challenges and teach kindness at home using mindful early childhood techniques and strategies. We believe children raised and taught with kindness, in its truest form as defined by science, will grow to be happier, healthier, and more confident.

How do I pay?
Payments are made to Raising Kindness LLC and collected safely and securely via Stripe Payment Processor and our registration system online called Jumbula. Please let us know if you have questions or to get help accessing your Jumbula/Raising Kindness account where you can update your family's profile with us or view payment history. We're all about flexibility for what works best for your family so, upon request, we're also happy to invoice you monthly at a time that is most convenient for your budget.

Who is my child's teacher aboard?
Melissa "Miss Mel" Dillon, is your child’s primary teacher aboard. You'll learn more about Miss Mel over the coming weeks. We are hiring in 2022 so if your child’s teacher changes, we'll be sure to let you know. All of our teachers are trained in teaching with kindness, mindfulness, and best practices for safety in sports and tumbling.

What if my child misses a class?
We’re always happy to issue credits and refunds for missed classes, upon request. We are the most flexible enrichment program when it comes to payments and credits. If your child misses a class, email Miss Mel at Melissa@RaisingKindness.org and she’ll issue a credit or refund to your account for the missed class.

What about protection against germs and COVID19?

We take your child's health and safety seriously - that includes our protocol for proactive protection against germs. Between EVERY school, we sanitize all contact points with bleach-based cleansers proven to kill COVID19 and other germs or viruses. This cleaning process includes disinfecting of all blocks, play equipment, bars, beams, handles, railings and mats. We follow all CDC and Georgia Dept. of Public Health recommendations. In the event one of our teachers tests positive for COVID19 or feels symptoms of sickness, your child's class will be canceled, school will be notified and a make-up class will be scheduled.

Can I use my credits toward other Raising Kindness Programs?

Of course! Your credits are good for the whole family! Throughout the year we offer Kindness at Home Parenting Workshops, Kindness Kids activities online, and so much more coming soon! If you see anything on our website that looks appealing, please do feel free to let Miss Mel know and she’ll either direct you to how you can take advantage of using your credits or she'll make sure your credits apply to whatever programs you’d like to experience. You’re also welcome to donate unused credits to families in need.
